Unlike traditional film X-rays, digital imaging captures detailed images of your teeth, roots, and jawbone in seconds. These high-resolution images appear instantly on our chairside monitors, so we can review them with you right away and explain exactly what we're seeing.

Digital X-rays help us spot cavities between teeth, infections at the root, bone loss from gum disease, and other issues that aren't visible during a regular exam. Digital X-rays emit up to 90% less radiation than conventional film X-rays, making them a safer choice for patients of all ages. There's also no need for chemical processing, which is better for the environment and allows us to view your images immediately.

Part of Your Routine Care

We typically take digital X-rays during your regular checkups and cleanings, usually once or twice a year depending on your oral health. If you're a new patient or experiencing specific concerns, we may take a full set to establish a baseline.

The process is quick and painless—just a few seconds per image. We'll position a small sensor in your mouth, step back, and capture the image. You'll barely notice it's happening, and within moments we'll be reviewing the results together.
