Restore Your Smile with Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers a damaged, weakened, or decayed tooth. At Santo Dental Group, we use crowns to restore both the function and appearance of your teeth, so you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence.

When You Might Need a Crown

We may recommend a dental crown if you have:

  • A tooth weakened by a large cavity or filling
  • A cracked or broken tooth
  • A tooth that's had root canal treatment
  • Severe wear or discoloration that affects your smile
  • A dental implant that needs a replacement tooth

Crowns protect what's left of your natural tooth structure while giving you back a strong, beautiful smile.

What to Expect

Getting a crown typically takes two visits to our Red Bank office. During your first appointment, we'll gently prepare the tooth, take precise impressions, and place a temporary crown. Our lab will craft your custom crown to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth.

At your second visit, we'll remove the temporary crown and carefully fit and cement your permanent crown. We'll make sure your bite feels comfortable and that you're happy with how it looks.

Natural-Looking Results

Today's dental crowns are made from high-quality materials like porcelain or ceramic that blend seamlessly with your smile. We take the time to match the shade and shape so your crown looks and feels like your own tooth.

If you have a damaged tooth or have been told you need a crown, we're here to help. Our team will walk you through every step and answer all your questions, so you feel comfortable and informed.

Common questions
Does getting a crown hurt?+

We use local anesthesia to keep you comfortable during the procedure. Most patients report feeling little to no discomfort. After the anesthesia wears off, you may have some mild sensitivity, but this typically goes away within a few days.

How long do dental crowns last?+

With good oral hygiene and regular dental visits, crowns can last 10 to 15 years or longer. Avoiding habits like chewing ice or grinding your teeth can help extend the life of your crown.

Will my crown look natural?+

Yes. We carefully match the color and shape of your crown to your surrounding teeth. Modern materials like porcelain and ceramic create beautiful, natural-looking results that blend right in with your smile.
